Chicks & Hatching Eggs

Our flock is comprised of a large variety of both laying and dual-purpose breeds.

Each breed was chosen due to its prolific egg-laying ability and hardiness for the temperamental Ohio weather and culled heavily over time for illness, genetic conditions, and other unsavory traits. Because of this, our hens are often much healthier and hardier than chicks sourced from commercial hatcheries.

We also cull heavily for behavior and temperament, leaving us with birds that are docile enough to have around kids and roosters that do not typically squabble with each other, given they have appropriate space.

Since our chickens free range and we do not separate them into groups by breed, we are only currently able to offer mixed breeds and barnyard crosses at this time.

**Hatching Eggs: $10/dozen

We do not currently sell hens.

*Please note that all chicks are sold as straight run and the sex cannot be guaranteed. You may receive a batch of 0-100% hens or roosters. We do not sex these chicks at any time or capacity and the ratio you receive is entirely up to chance.

**The viability and fertility of hatching eggs is monitored throughout the season with test hatches from our own incubators. All eggs are sold during times where success rates are high and handled properly to promote viability. That being said, we cannot control any improper handling, inadequate storage, or any other factors that come into play after the eggs leave our possession. Therefore, there are no guarantees on hatch rate.
