Chicks & Hatching Eggs

Our flock is comprised of a large variety of both laying and dual-purpose breeds. Each breed was chosen due to its prolific egg-laying ability and hardiness for the temperamental Ohio weather and culled heavily over time for illness, genetic conditions, and other unsavory traits. Because of this, our hens are often much healthier and hardier than chicks sourced from commercial hatcheries. We also cull heavily for behavior and temperament, leaving us with birds that are docile enough to have around kids and roosters that do not typically squabble with each other, given they have appropriate space.

Since our chickens free range and we do not separate them into groups by breed, we are only currently able to offer mixed breeds and barnyard crosses at this time.

Easter Egger (unsexed): $4 per chick

Mystic Maran Cross (unsexed): $6 per chick

Hatching Egg Pricing

Easter Egger (dozen): $10

Roosters

As a byproduct of our breeding program, our roosters display all the amazing qualities that our hens do, minus the egg-laying of course! They are typically mixed breeds, although occasionally we may have a purebred Mystic Maran rooster from time to time.

Our roosters are kid-friendly, tame, and most importantly: non-aggressive!

We take pride in the temperament of our animals and therefore, each rooster available for sale has been carefully evaluated based on attitude and behavior and socialized to the best of our ability.

We do not – under any circumstances – sell aggressive roosters.

Returns

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on roosters, regardless of when they were purchased. Since we often have 30+ hens and 6+ roosters at a time, it would be unfair to the returned rooster to have to redefine his place in the pecking order.
